The Transparent Capper Standard

Bettors deserve to know what they're buying. These are the principles we believe separate a trustworthy capper from a screenshot account, and the standard SportsDataNow is built to hold cappers to.

The eight tenets

What we believe every capper who sells picks owes the people buying them, in order of priority.

  1. 01

    Every capper is third-party tracked

A record a capper keeps on their own isn't proof. Every capper who sells picks should be tracked by an independent service, whether that's SportsDataNow or someone else. If you're buying picks, don't buy from a capper who isn't.

How SDN backs it: SDN is one independent tracker. Any service that captures picks when they're posted and grades them from official results meets the bar.

  2. 02

Every pick is timestamped, and nothing comes down

A pick only counts if it was posted before lock. No “I had this” after the fact. Losses stay up just as long as wins: no deleted posts, no quiet re-grades, no records that reset to hide a bad run.

How SDN backs it: SDN timestamps each pick the moment it's captured, and every graded pick stays in the record.

  3. 03

Free and premium results are reported separately

A capper's free plays and paid plays are different products, so they get separate records. Buyers should know what the paid product has actually done, not just the free picks.

How SDN backs it: SDN tags every pick as Free or Premium and breaks results down by tier.

  4. 04

Odds a regular bettor can actually get

Every pick is posted with its odds, and those odds should be available at popular, widely used sportsbooks when the pick goes out. No grading at a line from an obscure book, or a number that was gone before followers could bet it.

How SDN backs it: SDN records the odds posted with each pick, verifies the line is within an acceptable range of the market, and grades the pick at those odds.

  5. 05

    Responsible, consistent unit sizing

Be clear about your unit system, like what a unit is and what your typical range looks like, and stick to it. Unit size is stated when the pick is posted. No random 50u or 100u “max plays”, and no turning a 1u play into a 5u play once it wins.

How SDN backs it: SDN captures the stake with every pick and breaks results down by unit size, so a capper's sizing is visible in their record.

  6. 06

Normalized units, so every capper is measured the same way

One capper's unit is $50 and another's is $5,000, and a few oversized plays can make any record look better than it is. Normalizing units means units can't be inflated, and every capper is on the same page.

How SDN backs it: SDN normalizes every capper's units to their own average stake, so oversized plays can't buy a spot on the leaderboard.

  7. 07

Look at multiple metrics, not just one

Win rate matters, but on its own it doesn't tell the whole story. Going 65% on -300 favorites still loses money. Read win rate alongside units and ROI over a meaningful sample.

How SDN backs it: SDN shows units, win rate, and ROI side by side on every dashboard, profile, and the leaderboard.

  8. 08

Be clear about what's being sold

Say what the package includes, how many plays, which sports, how long it runs, and what the refund policy is. Disclose sportsbook affiliate deals and paid promotions.

How SDN backs it: A commitment we ask every capper to make. Your record does the selling.

Red flags for bettors

Before you pay for picks, watch for any of these.

  • No independent, third-party tracking of their record
  • Only screenshots of wins, with no full record to look at
  • Premium picks with no tracked results, just free-play wins
  • Deleted posts, or a record that “starts fresh” every month
  • Win rate quoted with no units, odds, or ROI
  • Odds you can't find at any popular sportsbook
  • Inconsistent unit sizing, or oversized plays that inflate results

Meet the standard

Screenshots aren't proof. Your record is. Get every free and premium pick verified, graded, and public.
