24 April - Red Sox vs. Orioles Game Preview & MLB Free Bet
Two of the hottest teams in baseball face off in an AL east matchup in Baltimore, Maryland tonight. The Red Sox come into this series against the Baltimore Orioles, winners of the last three series (Angels, Twins, and Brewers), while the Orioles come in winners of 10 of their last 12 games. These two teams were projected to be at the bottom of the AL east to start this year, but with the way the division is playing out so far, these two teams could finish anywhere from first to last respectfully.
On the mound for the Red Sox tonight is the hard throwing left hander in Chris Sale. Sale, 34, comes into this one off his best start all season. Throwing 6 innings of one run baseball while striking out 11 Twins hitters. Sale will look to make it back-to-back good outings tonight against a team that has had his number some might say in recent history. Sales last start against the Orioles, came on the 2nd game of the season for these clubs, in which Sale got dominated, giving up 7 runs in only three and a third innings of work. Prior to this horrific outing in early April, Sale had pitched great against this Orioles ball club since joining Boston prior to the 2017 season, putting up a 2.38 ERA in over 70 innings of work. Last start we saw the fastball, we saw the control back and getting better for Sale, and I have always loved his completeness, I see back-to-back quality starts for the big lefty.
Coming out of the other end of the diamond to start the first inning will be right hander Dean Kremer. Kremer, 27, has now played for the Orioles for four straight seasons, and will be making his sixth start versus this Red Sox ball club. In those 6 starts, Kremer has struggled to say the least, coming into this start, Kremer is 0-4 with a 7.76 ERA with the Orioles winning only one of those six games. The Red Sox as a whole come in with a lifetime batting average of .323 against Kremer and with how this lineup has been producing recently, scoring on average over 5 runs game in their last 11, it spells trouble for the Orioles tonight.
Tonight, I am putting my money where the stats tell me too. Yes Sale struggled his first start of the season, in which he was coming off another injury, but with how dominant this Sox lineup has been and they get to see a familiar face, it is hard for me to not go with the Sox tonight.
