18 April - Mets v. Dodgers Game Preview & Free Picks

The New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers face off tonight in LA in the 2nd game of a 3-game series between these two powerhouse ball clubs. The Mets are hot to say the least, after being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers in early April, the Mets have won 8 of their last 10 games, outscoring their opponents by 25 runs in that span. The Dodgers on the other hand, have had a rough start there 2023 season, with an 8-9 start and going .500 at home while losing 7 of their last 10 ballgames. To say the Dodgers, need this one is an understatement.

Tonight, the Dodgers will have a great chance to get that much needed win tonight with the help of their ace, Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw, 35, has dominated these Mets teams over his hall of famer career. Kershaw comes into tonight with a 10-0 record and a 2.17 ERA vs the Mets, which also includes a 6-0 record with a 1.93 ERA when facing the Mets in Dodgers Stadium. Kershaw’s last start vs the Mets came last year, when Kershaw went 5 innings while only giving up 1 earned on 1 hit and striking out 6. The Mets come into this matchup carrying a .191 career batting average against the soon to be hall of famer in Kershaw, which will play more into Kershaw’s hands as he looks to get a much-needed win for the Dodgers tonight.

Tylor Megill, the 27-year-old right-handed pitcher from Long Beach, California, will make the start against his hometown team growing up. Megill, grew up 30 minutes from the Dodgers stadium and will look to take game 2 of this 3-game series against the Dodgers and make it three consecutive quality starts to start off his 2023 campaign. Megill, returns home tonight to make his first appearance in front of his “home crowd” with, what should be the desperate, Dodgers lineup looking to crash the welcome party.

Tonight, lets go with the hall of famer, let’s go with the more desperate team, lets go with the team facing a 8-10 start the 2023 season. Let’s take the Los Angeles Dodgers to get on track and get a win tonight.
